Breaking into the modeling industry is no easy feat. There are seminars, conferences and books dedicated to that elusive pursuit. For models Romy Schonberger and Emmy Rappe, their "big moment" happened almost serendipitously. "When I was 15 years old, I was scouted while shopping in my hometown. I then did some test shoots and the rest is history," Romy says. As for Emmy, she credits her sister for pushing her to pursue a fashion career. "It was my sister’s idea," she says. "She e-mailed my polaroids to a couple of agencies in Stockholm and I was signed with my mother agency quickly after that."
Now, the two leggy beauties are the faces of Michael Michael Kors Fall 2016 campaign. For their epic shoot, they spent the day posing on a helicopter ride above New York. Talk about a dream job. "I had a very special moment when they took me on my first helicopter ride over Manhattan," says Emmy. "You never get to see the city like that. It is something I will never forget." Read on for Romy and Emmy's "amazing" shooting experience, their best posing tip, and their #1 piece of advice for nailing model-off-duty style.

Michael Kors said working with the two up-and-coming models was a no-brainer. "Emmy and Romy are beautiful, fun and have a great energy on set. Romy’s darker, more romantic look was the perfect complement to Emmy’s honey-colored blonde—it’s the ultimate juxtaposition. We wanted the pictures to be glamorous but also feel relatable, like a moment shared between friends, and they just happen to be sightseeing in New York on a helicopter."
What does the designer look for when selecting models to represent his brand? "People who have a sense of personal style, a great personality and who embody our brand DNA—this blend of sporty, sexy glamour."

From the cool leather jacket to the quilted, chain handle bag, there are so many spectacular pieces in the new collection. But if they had to choose one, Romy's partial to the "high brown boots." Emmy? "The green fur coat," she exclaims. "It's modern and cool. I would live it in all winter if I could!" Michael agrees. "For fall, I think everyone needs a statement coat—like moss faux fur or a great luggage-colored leather jacket." Consider it added to our shopping list.

When it comes to nailing model-off-duty style, Romy says "Less is more. Always." Emmy thinks authenticity is key. "The great part about this industry is that everyone has a unique style and people will embrace it. It’s best to dress [like] your authentic self. That’s when you feel the most comfortable and confident in your own skin."
