I started watching beauty videos during the summer of 2010. I was in a point in my life where I needed to start something new that would make me happy. Once I discovered the beauty community on YouTube, I thought that a channel of my own might fill that void. To be honest, I knew absolutely nothing about makeup when I first started (I thought an eyelash curler was some sort of torture device!) but I saw how much fun these beauty vloggers were having and I wanted to join in.
What's your beauty philosophy?
To feel beautiful you must embrace yourself from the inside out.

I love flipping through magazines to see what trends are popping up each season, and I get tons of tutorial inspiration from my fellow beauty vloggers.
**What is your favorite hairstyle to create? **
I absolutely love the look of loose curls when I use my Cortex Curling Wand. It's so quick and easy, but makes me look like I put so much effort into my hair. Plus, loose curls are beautiful year-round.

I like to carry Maybelline New York Lumi Concealer, Rimmel Stay Matte Translucent Powder, Sephora's Eyelash Curler (my must have!), Smith's Strawberry Lip Salve.
What three products do you find yourself buying over and over again?
I always repurchase my Too Faced Shadow Insurance Eye Primer. It's a necessity in my makeup collection! L'Oréal Paris Telescopic Mascara is my absolute favorite. It makes my eyelashes look like they're miles long and it's a drugstore product! I'm in love with my Revlon Lip Butters and adore the shade Strawberry Shortcake. They're the perfect blend of lipstick, gloss, and balm.

You really need to prioritize and stay organized! During the school year, I only film and edit videos on the weekends. Sometimes, I try to film a few extra so I have the flexibility to not film the next weekend if I want to go out with friends or I need to study for a big exam that's coming up. I also always keep to-do lists for school on my computer and another list of ideas for videos that I want to film.
**Do you have advice for a reader who wants to start a channel? **
If you're passionate about making a channel, don't let anyone stop you! It's given me the opportunity to grow as a person and brought me so much joy that I encourage everyone that's interested to pursue it. I've made so many amazing friends with fellow gurus! Just remember to stay true to yourself, smile, and embrace everything that comes your way.
