Joline on why she decided to embrace the chop:
“I wanted to try a daring and different look and so did my agents at Supreme. When my mother agency, Model Partner, told me Yannick D’Is would transform my hair I jumped at the opportunity. I entered the salon with zero expectations. The only thing I was sure about is that I wanted a strong look. The first trim was already so powerful as I said goodbye to my long hair. After two hours of cutting and styling, we found the perfect cut.”

Joline’s reaction to the chop:
“The new cut makes me feel carefree. As soon as Yannick finished, I put on my leather jacket, passed my hand through my hair, and said, ‘I’m ready to hop on a motorcycle now!’ As a child, my hair was always cut like a boy and that’s because my mom wanted my hair to grow thick and healthy. Growing up, I wanted my hair to be Rapunzel-long. This is my first dramatic hair change and it feels like the real Joline is back.Yannick D’Is on why he decided to cut Joline’s hair super short:
“Joline has a very beautiful attitude and I knew short hair would help bring out her personality,” says hair pro Yannick D’Is, who is responsible for giving Joline this edgy vibe. “With her dance background, I knew this hairstyle would work perfectly for her. Your silhouette and face shape are very important as to which hairstyle work for you, but confidence and personality make all the difference. The most important thing is to feel good with the way you look.” - Photo: Courtesy of Sita Abellan4/8

Sita on why she decided to make the color change:
“One day I thought it would be cool if I had black and orange or red together on my head like flames. I had the blue for awhile, so it was time to change things up. I didn’t think about changing my hair because of fashion week. I actually changed it because I was back in New York and I wanted Aura [Friedman] to do the transformation. I like the way that Aura works and she’s so creative with color and knows my style.”

Aura Friedman, celebrity hair colorist at Sally Hershberger Downtown, on how she brought Sita from blue to orange:
“Sita can wear any color. I knew it would look great. I just wasn’t sure if I’d be able to get her there! Blue is extremely difficult to remove from hair and on top of that, orange is complementary to blue. I really had to remove all of the blue before I could put the orange on. They neutralize each other otherwise. I tested it after two sessions of trying to remove the color with different products aside from bleach. I finally had to break down and use the bleach, because when I put the orange on a test strand pre-bleach it looked kind of brown. We made the roots black, so I didn’t have to bleach those. The ends were almost a pale mint green before I put the orange on. I used Manic Panic. She’ll need to give it some TLC and definitely use Olaplex. She also found out which orange to use: Manic Panic Psychedelic Sunset.”Sita on her hot new hue:
“The black and orange is exactly what I wanted. I love all the colors I’ve tried on my hair and I’d never say never to any colors. I love being in NYC and I can’t wait for fashion week. I love the vibe of the city, rushing from one casting to another, and meeting the designers.” - Photo: Courtesy of Trump Models6/8

Tina on her decision to embrace bangs:
“I have had the same look for about two years and when my agency in Paris suggested a look change the wheels started turning. By the time I got back to New York the decision was made. I like to change, it's cool to see myself as a different person. My outside look works on my inside. The New York agency suggested bangs, based on an old editorial picture I shot for Elle Japan that they loved. Paris suggested a darker color. We all agreed my eyebrows are a strong feature and we were looking for an image that matches my personality and that would also stand out. I love this choice!”

Tina on her salon trip:
“I was very nervous when I got to the salon. I was a bit afraid my hair would not have the same effect as the fake bangs they had on me for that editorial. My heart was beating fast when I sat on the chair but then when she started cutting I actually asked her to go shorter. I couldn’t really see myself with the bangs, I liked the idea, but I couldn't picture it. I actually called my agent to voice my concern and he just said to do it and not think about it. ‘Go Tina, Go!’ I am really looking forward to seeing the client's reaction to my new look, it's fun to see their faces when I walk through the door.”Laura Denny, stylist at Wonderland Beauty Parlor, on cutting Tina’s baby bangs:
“We cut Tina's bangs super short to draw attention to her stunning eyes and bold brow. We also dyed it a darker, luxurious brown shade. The bangs give her style an overall edge. If you’re deciding on bangs, do your research to find what style you like. Then, consult with your stylist to find the best fit for your face, hair texture and hairline.” - 8/8
