An Interview with Nour Hammour, Gigi Hadid's Favorite Leather Jacket Designers
If there is one wardrobe staple that every fashion girl has in their closet, it's a great leather jacket. They're edgy, classic and never go out of style. Enter Nour Hammour, a Paris-based leather brand created by two entrepreneurs: Nour Hammour and Erin Conry Webb. They've taken the classic silhouettes that we all know and love, and transformed them into something refreshingly modern. Nour, the namesake of the brand, grew up in Paris where she met Erin in graduate school. Over the last three years, the two have gone from friends with a genius idea for a company, to internationally-known fashion designers worn by major supermodels like Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner, and Sara Sampaio. Their handmade pieces range from classic motos and fringe jackets to intricately studded crops and shearling coats. Nour Hammour: Growing up in Paris, I was exposed to haute couture with my grandmother and always attended Paris Fashion Week.
Erin Conry Webb: Outside of a general interest in styling my whole life, I was a classical ballet dancer growing up, and became interested in costume design.
GC Images2/6TV: What challenges did you face creating and developing the line?
ECW: Moving to Paris and learning French did not come without many challenges, but it added a dimension to my life that I wouldn't have experienced otherwise. It took me a few years to feel comfortable speaking French, but now I work in and live the culture everyday (literally! I married a French man this summer).

GC Images3/6TV: What's your experience been like managing your business partnership and your personal friendship?
ECW: Nour and I have been very lucky in that regard. I think because we met during University while studying for our Master’s Degree. It was a highly competitive program and environment, so our friendship was originally based on our work ethic.
NH: We have been very fortunate working together, actually. The company is 100% designed, inspired and produced in Paris, but a large portion of our lives exist between Paris and California (Erin), NYC and the Middle East (Nour), as well.

NH: It was very important that the growth of Nour Hammour be organic. We started in 2013 with five styles that we customized for our clients and then we began to be contacted by important fashion influencers. With social media, not only are people able to discover our aesthetic, but we are able to see in real-time what our clients love.

Getty Images5/6TV: What's the coolest way to style your leather jacket?
NH: Lately, I love going with an oversized leather jacket style paired with a fitted outfit underneath. It's a cool contrast and more edgy alternative to a coat in the cold weather.
ECW: Right now I'm really into a jacket/dress combo with low-heeled thigh-high boots worn with tights.
