Patrick Starrr Is Launching a Floral Spring Makeup Collection with MAC Cosmetics

If there's one thing beauty blogger Patrick Starrr doesn't shy away from, it's color — and lots of it. Whether he's rocking a bold red lip or accentuating his eyes with vibrant bronze shadow, his YouTube channel and Instagram feed are filled with dramatic makeup looks, each more stunning than the one before.

The same love of bold color — and the fact that spring is imminent — inspired MAC Cosmetics's latest collection, entitled "Floral Realness." It's the brand's second collaboration with Patrick since his holiday collection from last year. (Editor's note: If "Floral Realness" doesn't exist as a perfume yet...free idea, Patrick.)

The 10-piece collection includes eyeshadow quad palettes, lipsticks, blush duos, and lip glosses featuring cheeky names like "Hey, Boy, Hey!," "Queen Patrick," and "Sweet Mamastarrr," a shoutout to his mom, who recently starrred in a makeup tutorial alongside her son.

As playful as sapphire eyeshadow and pearly lip gloss are on the surface, the fact that this is Patrick's second collection in less than half a year is a big deal; normalizing men's presence in beauty (especially with a company as influential as MAC), is major step forward for making the beauty industry a more inclusive space for everyone. In a recent video, Patrick addressed followers's questions surrounding this topic head-on, saying that "I am a man. I'm a man in makeup, and I love wearing makeup so much," adding that "makeup is one size fits all. For all the guys out there who are discouraged or want to wear makeup, just do it."

It's a sentiment that was also echoed by Very Good Light editor in chief David Yi, who penned an essay for Teen Vogue on the topic of male representation in the industry. "I’m often asked, 'Is a guy less of a guy with makeup?'" he wrote. "Quite the opposite. It’s a tool that you use to enhance what you love about yourself."
