6 Actors We Would Cast in a Live-Action Peanuts Movie
We could hardly contain our excitement when we heard that Charles M. Schulz’s iconic cartoon characters were headed for the big screen. If you’ve already “Peanutized” yourself and have been watching videos of Snoopy’s float in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on YouTube, you know the anticipation is real. Although today’s release will be animated, we had to wonder who’d be cast in a live action version of The Peanuts Movie.
The animated film will have to tide us over until a live action version is released, which we’re more than OK with. But here’s to hoping that our picks — including Evan Peters and Manny the Frenchie — start hanging out and working on their on-screen chemistry now, so that when casting time does roll around, they’ll be more than ready to wow audiences.

Evan Peters as Charlie Brown
Evan might have to rock a bald cap while playing our leading man, but we can’t help but think he’d do an amazing job in the main role. We’ve seen him play a variety of complex roles on American Horror Story over the years, and adding a “wishy-washy” kid to his repertoire would be icing on the cake.

Aubrey Plaza as Lucy
Aubrey perfected her side eye while playing April on Parks and Recreation, making her our top pick to play Charlie Brown’s nemesis, Lucy. We can already picture Aubrey’s cackle as she pulls a football from Charlie’s reach and her slouched stance while waiting for business at the psychiatry booth.

Josh Hutcherson as Linus
Who better to play Charlie Brown’s trusted partner in crime than Josh Hutcherson? Although thumb sucking and blankie holding would be a major change of pace for the Hunger Games alum, we still think he’s got the right stuff for playing Linus van Pelt. Does anyone have Josh’s agent’s number so we can find out where he stands on believing in the Great Pumpkin?

Chloë Grace Moretz as Sally
Chloë Grace Moretz is spunky, sincere, and precocious, just like Charlie’s little sis Sally. Sally lit up the comic strip with her heartwarming antics, but she’s also been known to toss reality checks her brother’s way when need be. Chloe has the chops and demeanor to bring the iconic blonde to life.

Lena Dunham as Peppermint Patty
We can already imagine Lena flawlessly delivering the line, “Hey, Chuck!” Lena’s quirky charm and HBO-perfected realness make her the ideal pick for Peppermint Patty. It’s believed that Schulz created Peppermint Patty in response to the women’s liberation movement in the ‘60s, making Lena destined for the role.

Donald Glover as Schroeder
The Beethoven-loving Peanut is best known for his piano antics and ignoring Lucy’s advances. Donald’s acting abilities are top-notch, and we know from his endeavors as Childish Gambino that he has more than enough musical talent to accurately portray the key-banging cartoon.

Bella Thorne as the Little Red-Haired Girl
Bella Thorne was made to play the subject of Charlie Brown’s unrequited affection, The Little Red-Haired Girl. While the character was never seen in the comic strip, we’d love to see Bella own the role and give Charlie’s love interest a contemporary voice.

Manny the French as Snoopy
If a dog is capable of racking up 856,000 Instagram followers, he’s probably capable of flying a plane à la the Red Baron. Manny’s no stranger to the spotlight so we know he wouldn’t crack under the pressure of his rising celebrity status. And plus, we’d love to see more of his cute fuzzy tummy.
