Pope Fashion Memes to Get You Prepped for Met Gala 2018

The theme of this year’s Metropolitan Museum and Costume Institute exhibit is “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination.” With each year bringing with it a completely different focus — from punk movements to couturier Charlies James; China’s influence on fashion and Comme des Garçons’ Rei Kawakubo alike — the industry is always abuzz in the days and weeks leading up to the annual Met Gala in anticipation of how the theme will be interpreted.

Though we’re fairly certain that no one is going to show up on the red carpet wearing papal gowns (though, who knows!), it got us thinking about how the fashion world has embraced the current Pope Francis — through memes, of course.
