Best Served Cold: 6 Beauty Products to Store in Your Fridge
If you've managed to escape the sting of below-freezing air this season, consider yourself seriously lucky. (Oh, how we'd love to book a plane ticket to your hometown right at this very minute!)
Moan and groan about the weather as we might, chilly temps do have a time and place in our beauty routines. Yes, you read that right. Unlike we humans, some products actually perform better when cold. Click through the slideshow above to find out which beauty buys will feel right at home in the fridge and why.

Clinique Even Better Eyes Dark Circle Corrector
It’s a well-known beauty hack to put cold spoons under your eyes to ease bags and dark circles. So think of popping your eye cream in the fridge as the next step up—especially if your formula of choice comes equipped with a metal tip like this one. Use your ring finger to gently dab the cream just below your bottom lids but handle with care! This area is particularly sensitive—any extra tugging can cause added bags (which is a little counterproductive, don’t you think?) The all-over cooling sensation will get blood flowing and in turn, reduce undereye puffiness.

First Aid Beauty Anti-Redness Serum
Calming is the name of the game when it comes to anti-redness treatments like this one. Store these single-use packets in the refrigerator for when you’re suffering from splotchy skin. Keeping the formula cold makes the experience all the more soothing, and the result—even-toned, smooth, and all-around serene skin—more instantaneous.

Lush Love Lettuce Fresh Face Mask
Unlike your average face mask, Lush’s all-natural formulas must be stored in the fridge without exception. Makes sense—you’d keep your edible lettuce in the fridge too, no? The cold makes our favorite formulas, like Love Lettuce—which contains calming French lavender—even more friendly to sensitive skin.

NARS Eyeliner Pencil in Black Moon
Weird as it may seem, eyeliner has a place in your refrigerator, too. About ten minutes before you go to use it, pop your pencil liner in the freezer for a blast of cold air. Take it out and sharpen while it’s still noticeably chilly—you’ll find you’re able to create a sharper-than-normal point that allows for precise application.

Mario Badescu Facial Spray With Aloe, Herbs And Rosewater
We especially love this trick for summer, but for the sake of your skin, face sprays and toners should live in your fridge all year ’round. A spritz from a slightly chilled solution will not only wake you up, but will tighten your pores until they’re nearly invisible.

Peter Thomas Roth Cucumber De-Tox De-Puffing Eye-Cubes
A level up from the cucumber slices you might see at a spa, these "eye-cubes" come to you in liquid form. Pop the package in the freezer, however, and they’ll transform into solid blocks you can place inside the included pouch and massage across the eye. Thanks in part to the cold, which works to constrict blood vessels to reduce swelling, your undereye area will appear brighter, fresher, and far less puffy.
