Tour Teen Vogue Intern Rachel Schwartzmann's Dorm Room
Name: Rachel Schwartzmann
Age: 19
Hometown: San Francisco, California
Decorating a dorm room can seem like tall task, but Rachel Schwartzmann proves that it's as easy as accessorizing an outfit. When the Teen Vogue intern is not dashing around the fashion closet in her signature Jeffrey Campbell heels, the 19-year-old college freshman updates her two blogs. The Style Line captures street style and Le Style Child chronicles Rachel's outfits and serves as her personal style diary. The multitasking teen unwinds at the end of her fashion-packed days in a dorm room that reflects her eclectic personal style.
Rachel treats her room as a source of artistic inspiration, hanging everything from Polaroid photos of her friends to her grandmother's contemporary oil paintings on her walls. What we love most about Rachel's unconventional space is that she uses her clothing and accessories (to her, "wearable art") as instant dorm room décor. If we found a vintage Chanel bag for $30 at a flea market, we'd display it like a trophy too.

Her Shoe Rack
"Jeffrey Campbell shoes are truly wearable art, and that's why I was so keen on displaying them in my dorm room! Money is a huge factor when it comes to shopping, and I'll really only splurge on amazing shoes. To soothe my poor wallet and my shopping cravings, I'll head over to Brooklyn and visit Buffalo Exchange, the Salvation Army, and Beacon's Closet."

Her Favorite Camera
"This big guy, who goes by the name of Bubba, is one of my favorite things that I own! I’ve always had a love for old film photos and Polaroid’s; they’re so charming! My friends urged me to create my personal style blog, Le Style Child. It’s aimed at documenting how my style evolves and serves as my public diary."

Her McQueen Memento
"This is my coveted souvenir from the Alexander McQueen exhibition at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. I figured that this replica of the statement "Armadillo Shoe" was the closest I'd come to real McQueen for a while (ah, the burdens of a broke college student!). The "Savage Beauty" exhibit opened my eyes to the haunting world that McQueen created and the legacy that he left behind."

Her Bookshelf
"I turn to these books as sources of information and inspiration. I'm currently in the middle of a biography on Isabella Blow. From an early age, I knew that I wanted to pursue a creative field. I've always had a knack for writing, and as my love for fashion developed, I figured pairing the two would make for a pretty lethal career."

Her Workspace
"My biggest piece of advice for those looking to start a blog is to make sure you know the reasons why you want to start it. It's really important to have a confident voice and vision in your posts. If you believe in what you're saying or showing, other people will believe it too. Your following will eventually begin to build organically.
My workspace is the area of my room that I consider to be the most inspirational. I am an aspiring fashion writer, so I treat my desk as a place to unwind and get to work. But honestly, I write where I'm most comfortable at the moment—whether it be on the couch or even sitting on the floor!"

Her Inspiration Board
"Like I said before: Jeffrey Campbell shoes are wearable art, but the bos they come in are just as decorative! A lot of people think that I personally made or bought these from a store. When decorating, come up with a budget, as it's easy to get spend happy. Also, keep technicalities in mind such as space, roommates, and your school's particular rules and regulations."

Her Shoe Collection
"I'm currently interning in the fashion closet, which is completely different from doing an editorial internship. It's the heartbeat of the magazine, as all of the clothing samples are trafficked in and out and prepared and organized for upcoming shoots. I've learned that you have to be very quick on your feet and extremely organized."
