Riverdale's Throwback Episode Outfits Made the Cast Look Like Their Parents
Riverdale finally graced us with the much-anticipated throwback episode, and — as always — it did not disappoint.
Aside from giving us major insight into the characters' past (... was anyone freaking out as much as I was about the Penelope/Clifford plotline?! Because, um, wow.), the episode also delivered some serious fashion inspo straight out of the '90s. The usual cast of teen characters was practically unrecognizable as the vintage versions of their parents, thanks in large part to the sartorial choices made by the wardrobe team. Fans got to feast their eyes on Serpent-ified Betty as Alice Cooper; Catholic school Veronica as Hermione Lodge; Preppy Jughead as young FP Jones; Denim-on-denim Archie as Fred Andrews; Bespectacled Cheryl as Penelope Blossom; And scrunchie-wearing Josie as Sierra McCoy.

If the flashback episode taught us anything, it's that Betty and Alice Cooper are more similar than we realized. And that Alice Cooper had serious style in high school. She rocked her serpent jacket with a lacy bra top, high-waisted jeans over a pair of even higher-waisted fishnets, and a plaid shirt tied around her waist. Though we can definitely imagine her trading in her signature red cat-eyes for a set of oversized spectacles, stolen from her mom's closet.
