2/6If you spend even half as much time poring over runway images as we do, you’ve no doubt asked yourself how you can make the season’s biggest trends your own. That’s why we’ve enlisted senior associate accessories editor Gisella Lemos to get our fall wardrobes in shape with a dose of runway inspiration—and a little help from some stylish readers.
Sure, the holiday season will include at least one fancy formal occasion worthy of a party dress, but what should you wear to all the other festivities? While they all call for something special, you have the option to make your ensemble a bit more low-key (and therefore uniquely cool). In search of a casual-yet-glam look, we turned to Gisella. "Capturing the metallic vibe of David Bowie’s ’Ziggy Stardust,’ this trend is pared-down with feminine touches, like loose layers, flowy skirts and shorts as well as a great statement bag," she says.

Tone It Down: "To soften the look, avoid overdoing the jewelry, so pick a few of your favorite pieces to wear," Gisella explains. "Try just one sequin piece."
