Among the many things we love about actress Shailene Woodley is that she's completely confident in herself. It's something we can sense even when she's pretending to be someone else—AKA making us dream of joining her fearless faction (aptly named Dauntless) in Divergent or forcing us to sob uncontrollably when we see her as Hazel in TFIOS. Our former cover star just does her thing, whether that means taking a two-year hiatus from making movies when it feels right, or espousing her love of an organic lifestyle.
In case you were wondering, Shailene's affinity for all things all-natural extends to beauty, too. This means restricting her regimen to green products, but it also comes across in her pared-down sensibility on the red carpet. This is not to say she ever bores us, but over the years, we've discerned a certain clean-and-classic pattern: uber-dewy skin, minimal makeup, and the most incredibly lustrous hair. Seriously, we were on the brink of being sad when she chopped it all off, but she pulls off the pixie with A-list aplomb. And did you know she donated her locks to a children's charity? Like we said, she's awesome.

At a premiere for The Ides of March, her hair is nothing short of shampoo-commercial flawless. To get soft, tumbling waves like these, try coating your damp hair in volumizing mousse then putting it in a bun. A few hours later, let it loose and rake through the lengths with a little defining paste.

She straightens her hair once more, echoing the clean silhouette of her Grecian-goddess inspired gown. Makeup-wise, she goes for winged liner, tapering it out at the edges and stretching the color halfway across the lower lashline—making her eyes appear even larger than usual.

While she normally favors minimal product, her Oscars hair and makeup provide all the proof we need that she looks just as beautiful all glammed up. We love how the shadow placement—blended up to the brows at an angle—acts as a soft, sultry alternative to a cat eye.

It’s not-so-shocking that Shailene applied her own mascara (an organic formula from Physician’s Formula, natch) for this The Fault in our Stars premiere look. We were, however, pleasantly surprised at the choice of a bright pink lip! Get the full how-to on the makeup here.
