7 Spring 2019 Trends You'll See Everywhere Next Season
Fashion Month is finally over! Don’t get me wrong: I love going to countless shows, presentations, and appointments. Attending leisurely events to check out pretty things is part of being a Fashion Director. But the best part about it being over is having the time to chill and think about all the collections I've seen, especially dissecting every “lewk” with my Teen Vogue fashion crew. I’ll keep it real. For the past couple of seasons, NYFW has been asleep. But this time around there was energy because there was a sense of community — the feeling of belonging to a group is what saved the first leg of fashion month. All the younger designers that showed (Pyer Moss, Luar, Matthew Adams Dolan, and Telfar) brought their A-game. London was wacky as always. But having Riccardo Tisci create super wearable pieces for Burberry was a highlight. Milan gave us some palpable moments as always. Thank you, Prada and Versace. And Paris, well, we’ll always have Paris. Creativity is abundant there. I never have words for PFW, just a feeling of WOW, DAMN, AHHHHH. After sifting through it all, my team and I came up with a list of our favorite trends. Some are wearable and some are not. But whatever, it’s fashion!

"There was an overarching theme this season of designers emulating a vacation vibe. Whether it be the physical beach in Chanel’s case or sandals that are reminiscent of hotel slippers at Marni. One interpretation I loved? Working swimwear into everyday apparel: over dresses, with jeans, under a blazer — you name it.They showed it all. "For Spring 2019, the shorter the hemline, the better. The '90s trend that was once a staple on shows like 90210 has been spotted at Valentino, Prada, Miu Miu, Chanel and Celine shows this season.
