DIY Striped Boyfriend Jeans

what you need
J Brand Aidan "Boy Fit" Jean in Gemini
Masking tape
Tape measure/ruler
Tailors chalk (regular chalk will work)
Non-toxic latex paint (small pint color of your choice)
Paint brush
Rubber gloves

Measure and mark side stripe
Fold jeans with center front crease. Measure 1/2" from side seam and mark with chalk on each side starting at the top, working all the way to the hem.

Mark with chalk
Make chalk markings down the seam every 4"-6" apart.

Apply tape to seam
Apply masking tape down the side of the seam using chalk markings as a guideline.

Apply masking tape down the opposite side of the seam using the chalk markings as a guideline.

Secure tape
Make sure to pat down the masking tape so it lays as flat as possible (so paint does not bleed).

Begin painting the stripe
Apply an even thin layer of paint and let sit dry.

Repeat on the other side
Once the painted side dries, flip over and repeat steps 1-5 on the other side.

Allow paint to try
Once paint is dry on each side, peel off masking tape.

The finished jeans

Wash and dry jeans
Machine wash and dry is recommended to break down the stiffness of the painted stripe.
