Nowadays Instagram has become our go-to place to discover new fashion brands and trends. Sure, Rihanna once told The Cut, “Instagram is the death of all trends. Once it gets there, it’s too late. It’s gone." Her statement carries weight, but how else would we find out about cool indie brands, that zebra-print dress you don't really need but must have, or that leopard skirt everybody seems to own in every variation? It's a blessing and a curse. And now even more so, thanks to Instagram's latest feature, which users to shop products directly from the posts of some top influencers and creators.
That being said, just like any other season, we're turning to Instagram to see which swim trends we'll be copping this summer. Last year it was all about the high waisted swimsuits Gigi Hadid would approve, but this year even though high-waisted bottoms are still going strong we'll be pairing them with much more interesting tops. From bandana bikini tops, one-shoulder tops, and smocked tops to all things underwire and animal print, this summer is all about having fun with the swimsuit silhouette and as per usual, feeling great in your body, no matter what you decide to wear.
Bandana Bikinis:
As we mentioned a while back, the scarf trend is gaining quite the momentum. So, if you want to try incorporating it into your summer wardrobe, you can easily do so with a swimwear top that features a bandana silhouette. However, this trend is ideal if you have a smaller bust.
One-Shoulder Swim:
Trending is an understatement when it comes to one-shoulder tops. And the same can be said for one-shoulder swimsuits. They won't give you the cold shoulder and are a nice switch up from your go-to off-the-shoulder swimsuits.
Animal Prints:
Whether it's the leopard everything or that cow print bathing suit both Kylie Jenner and Khloe Kardashian love to share on IG, animal print bathing suits are a must this summer when you're hitting the beach or heading to a pool party. Not only they are playful and fun, but most of the other trending silhouttes we're mentioning in this roundup come in these wild (and domestic) prints.
Underwire:
Underwire swimsuits usually have a very vintage feel to them and since this summer we're all about throwing it back. This trend is one of our faves. Plus, underwire bathing suits are great if you have a bigger bust.
