Swimsuits go through a large amount of wear-and-tear. They are delicates that aren't usually not treated as such. They get dunked in chlorine, saltwater, freshwater, and other miscellaneous H2O. Which is why, sometimes, our swimsuits can barely last us the season. And that, leads to a considerable amount of waste. This summer, we're all about doing our research on how the swimsuit was made and how it'll impact the planet once we inevitably get rid of it. Fabric content and sustainable environmental practices are paramount. Lucky for us, Econyl is a new regenerated nylon that helps to close the loop on fabric waste. It's being used in activewear by brands like Girlfriend Collective and Free People, and now it's being used in our swimwear.

Econyl fabric can be recycled, recreated, and remolded an infinite amount of times, meaning no fabric goes into the landfills. Plastics from industrial waste, fishing nets, and carpet flooring all go into making a yard of Econyl. It's a favorite among sustainable swimsuit designers, but others are also choosing to design and find their own sustainable fabrics.
