I first came across the YouTube beauty blogger community in 2009 when I was having trouble with my group of friends. I was spending a lot of time alone. I’ll never forget finding a tutorial by Blair, of JuicyStar07, and trying it out with my mom’s makeup. That night I discovered that I had a talent and started a channel of my own in April of 2010.
What’s your beauty philosophy?
Less is more! It’s so important to remember that everyone has natural beauty and you don’t want to cover that up.

I always look through magazines to see how the celebrities are doing their hair and makeup. I love doing looks inspired by Kendall and Kylie Jenner because they're so close to my own age. I also love asking my YouTube subscribers what they want to see from me.
What's your favorite hairstyle to create?
I love wearing my hair in a big bun. Since I color my hair and use heat on it all the time, wearing it in a bun gives it a break. Plus, it looks cute!

I always carry around eyeliner, powder, and a ton of lip gloss. My skin has been getting super oily lately, so I make sure I have blotting sheets with me at all times.
What three beauty products do you find yourself buying over and over again?
Eyeliner, mascara, and lip balm. I love trying out new eyeliners and mascaras because I wear them both every day, and I'm always losing my lip balms!

It's so difficult to balance everything because they're all so important to me. I usually focus on school throughout the weekdays and film on the weekends. Filming and editing only takes a couple of hours, so I still have time to spend with my friends. I think I've finally figured out a schedule that works for me.
Do you have advice for a reader that wants to start a channel?
Being yourself is the most important thing to remember. Make sure you're showing your true personality in your videos because you want people to subscribe to your channel because they like what you have to offer. Good video quality and lighting is also a must. Finally, don't let hater comments or kids at school discourage you. YouTube is a wonderful place to be creative and those people are just jealous of your talent and confidence.
