When we first caught a glimpse of Gigi Hadid hailing a cab in what appeared to be a bikini top and some very fly wide-leg black pants, our first thought was, "How soon can we copy that look?" Spoiler alert: The time is now. Now that Memorial Day weekend behind us, it's officially summer dressing season — our favorite time of year to break the rules.

Try layering a sleek one-piece swimsuit under a maxi skirt or high-waisted pants. Or, rock a cropped, ultra-sporty swim top with a mini skirt. The pairings and possibilities are kind of endless, which makes this trend one of our favorites of the season.
