What Teen Vogue Editors Wear to Fashion Week
- 1/15
Preparing for fashion week is a multi-faceted process, from invitations and RSVPs to scheduling, it's all about the details, including what you're going to wear each day. It's a fun – but somewhat daunting — task to plan for the week ahead, but there's nothing worse than waking up late, and wasting time standing in front of your closet, feeling like you have nothing to wear. Even though, no matter how much we plan ahead, that will eventually happen at least once during the week.
For Teen Vogue editors, the days are spent running between shows and appointments, darting back to the office to catch up on emails and take note of our favorite looks, and finding time to caffeinate (so necessary), so it's important that when choosing an outfit, it's not only a question of aesthetics — it's also a matter of function. It has to be versatile (and comfortable) enough to last us from morning 'til night.
Our fashion team stopped by Opening Ceremony for a little outfit inspiration, and picked out some of their favorite statement pieces from the season. Click through to see what our editors will be wearing as they hit the NYC streets for Fashion Week, doing their best to stay stylish in the inevitable 90 degree heat.

“Is it just me, or does everyone feel like a badass with a motorcycle jacket on? I love this patent one from courreges, seriously they do the best patent leather! In an ideal world, I'd have these pants in every color and would rotate each day. The metallic bag makes the look--which is pretty casual--a little more special. Plus, it's big enough to cart around my giant iPhone and fashion week invites.”
Sarah wears a Courreges leather jacket, Aalto young heroes '90s t-shirt, Marques’Almeida capri fray-edge flare jeans, and Marques’Almeida metallic leather handbag, all available at openingceremony.us and Opening Ceremony stores. She wears her own sunglasses and shoes.

“I'm a t-shirt and skirt girl through and through and I absolutely loved how this Jacquemus mock-turtleneck shirt and this striped Suno skirt worked so effortlessly together, almost as if they were made to be worn with one another. I'll be honest, I'm a sucker for a good matchy-matchy moment and I couldn't help but love that the red and white pops pulled this look together.“
Kirby wears Jacquemus OC-exclusive le t-shirt col haut, $95, openingceremony.us. Suno printed panel skirt, and Comme des Garcons polka-dot printed zip-top pouch, all available at openingceremony.us and Opening Ceremony stores. She wears her own sunglasses and shoes.

"I am all about a good layered look that plays with proportion, especially when that look includes a pair of printed flares. I've probably never met a bold, wide-leg pant I didn't love — especially when they're by Isa Arfen. The asymmetric silhouette of the sweater perfectly showed off the print and added a bright pop of color."
Alex wears Isa Arfen jacquard ‘70s pant, Opening Ceremony chain stripe sleeveless tunic dress, $435, openinceremony.us, and Opening Ceremony mini Izzy shearling backpack $595, openingceremony.us and Opening Ceremony stores.

"This bag offers a modern take on a '90s raver (and my current) favorite — the plush backpack."

“At the office we all love what Marques’Almeida have been doing lately. We are obsessed with their frayed denim and brocade pieces. I love the color and the shape of this red jacket, it's edgy but yet still pretty simple.”
Marina wears a Marques'Almeida asymmetric denim wrap jacket, available at openingceremony.us and Opening Ceremony stores.

"I am very into layering during Fashion Week because you are constantly going in and out of air conditioning. This Marques Almeida denim added a little twist to my usual Proenza Schouler t-shirt and jeans uniform."
Jessica wears a Christopher Kane floral embroidered leather jacket, Proenza Schouler printed jersey tissue tee, $255, openingceremony.us. Marques’Almeida denim corset top, all available at openingceremony.us and Opening Ceremony stores. She wears her own bag, jeans, and shoes.

"I am a huge fan of Christopher Kane and the floral embroidery on this leather jacket further proves why. Everything he does is a win in my book and I consistently find myself lusting over his pieces."

“I'm not one to shy away from color or print and have been eyeing this jacket since I saw it on the runway last season. It's super lightweight and would be ideal to layer over a graphic tee when it's air-conditioned in the show venues. The jeans (which btw are supposed to be cropped, but are flood style on me), are stretchy and ideal for running around the city. The shoes, not so much.”
Sarah wears a Marques’Almeida metallic brocade jacket, Rodarte “Radarte” t-shirt, Marques’Almeida capri fray-edge flare jeans, and Proenza Schouler extra small courier bag, all available at openingceremony.us and Opening Ceremony stores. She wears her own shoes and sunglasses.

“I always joke that I lived a past life as an 80's punk kid and this look totally embodies that idea. I love how black and pink look together so I opted to pair these punk-era reminiscent Adam Selman pants with a J.W. Anderson polo a la Fred Perry. I finished the look off with a sweatshirt by Raf Simons, who is a revolutionary designer known to tap into sub cultures in his designs. Someone queue up The Clash!”
Kirby wears a J.W. Anderson cotton-piqué polo shirt, Raf Simons robot hand hooded sweatshirt, Adam Selman gingham pants, and a Marques’Almeida metallic leather handbag, all available at openingceremony.us and Opening Ceremony stores. She wears her own sunglasses and shoes.

“The revival of the denim dress has been one of my favorite trends over the last several seasons, but this one takes things to a whole new level. The origami-inspired folds and layers combined with the frayed edges and hems make it anything but basic. And the backpack is by one of my absolute favorite lines, KARA, whose bags are all made right here in NYC.”
Alex wears an Acne Studios t-shirt, Marques’Almeida frayed asymmetric denim dress, and KARA OC-exclusive plush backpack, all available at openingceremony.us and Opening Ceremony stores.
