Blogger Of The Moment: The Fancy Teacup
As a platform for her ladylike looks and artistic musings, Jamie Chen's The Fancy Teacup is a darling style diary for those who are fans of the finer things. Her love of photography, writing, and fashion is apparent in her blog, which she aims to read like a coffee shop book. The result? A delicious blend of wise words and photographs.
With a knack for finding the beauty in nature, Jamie conjures up sweet but chic ensembles that are sure to inspire. Her gorgeous photos are adorned with text, for a glossy magazine spread feel. Fortunately, this is one periodical that never ends.

**Why did you initially decide to start a blog? **
I always had a knack for getting dolled up and styling outfits, but it was actually my boyfriend who suggested that I start a blog to showcase my outfits. It also was a perfect way to dabble in some more photography and writing.

**What is the story behind your blog's title? **
The idea for my blog was for it to be read like an excerpt from a novel. I wanted my readers to feel like they were perusing through glimpses of my life while in a coffee house somewhere. The layout of my blog has now evolved into more of a editorial/magazine display to further the concept.
**If your blog had a mission statement, what would it be? **
Imagine the bottled up ideas of a fashion and art inspired damsel, who translates them for a worldwide audience. And then one pleasant morning, you find yourself in a coffee shop with The Fancy Teacup.

**Who inspires your wardrobe and why? **
I draw fashion inspiration from style icons like Clemence Poesy and Miroslava Duma.
**What do you do when you're not blogging? **
Spending time with the boyfriend and friends, working, having good eats, traveling, basking in the great outdoors, and having some retail therapy here and there.

**What are your personal favorite blogs? Why? **
I love bloggers who march to the beat of their own drum and highlight exceptional photography such as Atlantic-Pacific, 5 Inch and Up, Park & Cube, Wish Wish Wish, Fashion Toast, tuula, Chicmuse, and The Cherry Blossom Girl.
**Any advice for anyone who wants to start her/his own blog? **
Be authentic and focus on what you are passionate about—then the blogging experience will be well worth it.

**What are the best aspects of running your own blog? What are the hardest aspects? **
The benefits of having a blog is the endless creativity I can have with it featuring the things I have fun with, whether it be photography, writing, design or fashion. The only difficult thing about blogging is finding the time to keep up with as much as I would like—I have to juggle a full-time job and also want to enjoy quality time with loved ones and friends.

**Where are your favorite places to shop? **
I love high street fashion stores, such as Zara, Asos, H&M, and Urban Outfitters. Finding vintage gems at antique shops and flea markets are always fun too.
**Are there any trends you are particularly inspired by this season? **
The revival of fluoresecent and pastel hues is very exciting. Anything blossoming with color makes my wardrobe happy.
