Tumblr Is Launching the Most Reblog-Worthy Fashion Line Ever
- 1/9
Hands down, Tumblr is one of the greatest (and our favorite places) on the internet. Where else can you find the best ‘90s GIFS, fashion inspiration from around the world, and artwork from the next generation of art-world stars in the same place, and simply re-blog it to create your own super cool blog of visuals that’s unique and communicates your point of view?
To celebrate its 10th year at New York Fashion Week, Tumblr has teamed up with 10 artists who got their start on the blogging site — including Rookie Magazine favorite Hattie Stewart, and Lauren Pelc-McArthur, John McLaughlin, and Monica Ramos, whose work has all appeared in the New York Times — to create wearable pieces based on their work. They unveiled the collection on Thursday with a festive fashion week fete at their pop-up shop, the Lightbox, that will be open through Sunday. If you’re not in New York, there’s no need to feel left out: You can view all of the artists’ wearable art at fashion.tumblr.com, and re-blog your favorite pieces any time of day, or snag one of the remaining pieces after Sunday at Print All Over Me.
The collection is the perfect example of the internet, art, and fashion coming together and working as one by the artists utilizing garments to display their work and connect with others, not without the sense of whimsy, randomness, and humor that Tumblr has become known for. We’re willing to bet you’ll want to re-blog each and every piece. Click through to see them all!
