Face
"The key to the traditional vampire look is to make the skin look like it’s been drained of blood," says MAC Cosmetics Senior Artist John Stapleton, who helped us create this deadly Halloween look.
"Start out by lightening up the skin: Use a foundation that’s three shades lighter than your skin tone, or you can also use white body paint. Apply it with a sponge, starting from the center of your face and working down the neck."

Face
Paint veins over the skin with a teal eye pencil. Stapleton suggests holding the pencil loosely when applying.
"Hold the length of the pencil with your thumb and forefinger. Place the tip on your temple and let it drip down your face. Let the pencil do the work — don’t apply lots of pressure," he says. Create vein-type patterns all over the face, but mainly focus on your temples, cheeks, neck, and eyes.

Eyes
"The next step is to hollow out the eyes. Take a gray eye shadow and blend it through the crease of the eyelid very thickly using a fluffy brush. You should end up with a diffused effect around your eyes," says Stapleton.

Eyes
Apply a generous amount of black mascara, and then add on fake lashes as an accent. For first-time lash users, Stapleton recommends cutting each lash in half and applying the two sections separately, which makes them easier to handle.

Lips
"Take the same eye shadow you used on your eyes and pat a little bit onto your lips to make them look as if they lost their color. With a taupe-gray eye pencil, fill your lips along their perimeter," says Stapleton. For a high gloss look, he suggests using a lip balm to prime the lips.

Lips
"Every vampire needs to leave the house with a little bit of blood on the face!" says Stapleton, who advises skipping fake blood entirely because it can smear and get messy by the end of the night.
"Instead, use a long-wearing lip color that goes on wet and dries well." Draw an ooze of blood at one corner of the mouth, and then splatter some of the lip color onto the face using a clean mascara wand that’s been dipped into the product. "You can use any kind of red for this step: blood red, burgundy, deep red — it depends what kind of vampire girl you are!" he says.
