DIY This Awesome See-Through Pouch and Never Lose Anything Again
1/14What You Need
-A small zippered pouch
-1/2-yard of colored vinyl fabric
-Scissors
-A clear grid ruler
-A permanent marker in a color slightly darker than the bag
-E6000 glue
-Toothpicks
-Jewelry pliers
-A prong-back stud
-A large jump ring
2/14Draw a Line
Turn the bag inside out and lay it flat. Using the ruler, draw a line one inch from the sewn edge at the bottom of the pouch.
3/14Mark Rectangles
Mark lines one inch from the side seams and the top of the pouch. This rectangle will be where the window is positioned. Mark lines on the other side of the pouch as well.
4/14Cut out the Vinyl
Cut the vinyl out. Use the resulting piece to trace and cut a second identical vinyl piece.
5/14Cut out the Rectangles
Carefully pierce a hole with the scissors inside the drawn rectangle, and cut along the lines. Repeat on the other side.
6/14Trace on the Vinyl
Lay the vinyl flat, and place one of the rectangles near the corner, about half an inch from all edges. Use it as a guide to draw a larger rectangle on the vinyl.
7/14Apply Glue
Lay one piece of the vinyl flat, and apply a thin line of E6000 on all four edges.
8/14Place the Vinyl
Place the vinyl over the window cutout (with the pouch still inside out!), and press firmly in place. Carefully flip the bag over and repeat on the other side. Allow the glue to dry, then turn the bag right-side out.
9/14Make a Strap
Cut a long, thin strip of vinyl. Place the jump ring on one end, and fold the vinyl over. Glue the folded edge in place.
10/14Make a Loop
Fold the other end of the strap over to make a loop, and glue the end in place.
11/14Bend the Prongs
Bend the stud's prongs closed with the pliers.
12/14Insert the Stud
Insert the prong-back stud in one side of the strap to cover the glued seam.
13/14Attach the Strap
Use the pliers to remove the zipper pull from the pouch. Open the jump ring on the strap and attach it to the zipper. Close the jump ring to complete the step.
