Before the MTV Video Music Awards 2024, the VMAs 2024 red carpet got the night going! The focal point of the event may not be fashion, but with so many memorable looks from the VMAs red carpet over the years, it has become one of the biggest attractions of the event.

With this year's VMAs occurring at the same time as New York Fashion Week, we almost questioned if we should have been expecting double the fun. Some of the biggest designers, stylists, makeup artists, manicurists, and hairstylists were already here in New York City. And while, the city was filled with an extra boost of inspiration both on the runways and in the streets now, we wondered if perhaps an artist or two would feel emboldened and dare to try a new head-turning look out on the red carpet.

Regardless, with the night's impressive guest list, we definitely anticipated some interesting looks. Megan Thee Stallion, this year's VMAs host, has been known to try out fun experimental looks, sparing no detail from her hair to her nails to her shoes. Sabrina Carpenter has mastered her signature aesthetic but still keeps us guessing somehow. Chappell Roan puts careful thought into all of her outfits, unafraid to completely transform her look or even rewear something. BLACKPINK's Lisa, who has made just a much of a splash in the fashion world as she has in music, was also set to make a return to the VMAs red carpet, and her last appearance did not disappoint.
