Wenjin Kang, of WenxD: Beauty Blogger of the Moment
Wenjin Kang may be soft-spoken in her videos, but her ideas speak volumes. She originally started her channel, WenxD, to share her dance videos, but quickly realized that her passion for beauty and fashion would become the main focus. Her channel is a one-stop-shop for tutorials on makeup, hairstyles, DIY projects, and outfit inspiration. She tells you how she makes school a priority, hangs out with friends, and manages a successful channel, all while constantly coming up with new ideas for videos. Learn how to copy her baby pink pout and always-flushed cheeks or follow along with her tutorial on baby doll makeup and hair.

When and why did you first decide to start your channel?
I've had my YouTube channel since 2006, but the reason I originally started was to post dance videos—nothing beauty or fashion-related. It wasn't until 2010, when I finished my first semester of college, that I decided to go the beauty and fashion route.
What is your beauty philosophy?
Never be afraid to wear and do what you want. Be an inspiration for individuality and don't conform!

Besides vlogging, what's a typical day like for you?
I'm currently a full time college student and my typical day pretty much consists of school! I'm an apparel design and marketing major, so I'm always surrounded by fashion, which creates inspiration for my channel 24/7. Education aside, you can usually find me with my close friends at a frozen yogurt shop or going through malls and boutiques. I'm like every other girl out there, just enjoying the simple things in life.
What's in your makeup bag right now?
A Maybelline Dream Matte Powder, EOS Lip Balm, and Etude House VIP Girl Dear Darling Lipstick in Pop Star Pink. It's not that much, but I usually don't touch-up throughout the day.
What three beauty products do you find yourself buying over and over again?
L'Oréal Paris True Match Foundation, Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel, and Naruko Tea Tree Oil Out Acne Clay Cleanser.

What is your favorite hairstyle to create?
I'm a simple girl, so my favorite low-key hairstyle is loose curls. It's just so versatile and convenient! I can always either tie it up or let it fall down my shoulders—it goes with every outfit!
What was the hardest tutorial you've ever filmed and why?
My makeup tutorial on Korean popstar Narsha because her eye makeup was so dramatic. I usually wear very little makeup. Also, I had to figure out exactly what camera angle I should film at and try to keep it in focus.
How do you balance school, a social life, and your channel?
It's never easy to multitask! I focus a lot of my attention on school because it's my number one focus at the moment and, as a result, I have to just balance my channel and my social life around that.

Who inspires you?
The people that inspire me daily are my parents. They work extremely hard to support my younger brother and myself and they came from such a tough background. I have nothing but respect for them and each day they inspire me to do my best at anything I set my mind to.
Do you have advice for a reader that wants to start a channel?
A channel takes a lot of time out of your life and you have to be ready for that. Make sure you absolutely love what you're doing and just be yourself. Also, there's bound to be criticism towards you and not all of it is constructive. It can be hurtful, but don't let it bother you or keep you from doing what you love. What's important is that you are happy and true to yourself!
