Women's March Attendees Protest Trump, Amy Coney Barrett Nomination
Thousands of people took to the streets on Saturday, October 17 to participate in the #CountOnUs March, led by the Women’s March organization in efforts to protest President Trump and his Supreme Court nominee, Amy Coney Barrett.
While the official march was held in D.C., hundreds of additional (socially distanced) in-person and virtual events were held in cities across the country. According to the official Women’s March Twitter account, there were over 430 marches total, across all 50 states.

Saturday’s event was actually the second Women’s March of the year; the prior demonstration took place in January, as customary for the annual march, which got its start in 2017. The very first march was held one day after President Trump’s inauguration, and it’s been touted as the largest single-day protest in U.S. history.
