Over the four seasons of American Horror Story there have been numerous moments of sheer terror. With a brilliant cast, masterful writing, and haunting monsters. it’s no surprise that the series has produced some of the most terrifying quotes in recent memory. In honor of the premiere of American Horror Story: Hotel, here are 20 eerie quotes from the show's history that will certainly keep you up tonight.

1. Normally a nun would be the perfect person to go to for encouragement during your darkest hour, but Briarcliff Mental Institution wasn’t the home of your average nuns.

2. During season 2 a patient showed up claiming that she was Anne Frank. She may not have been the Anne Frank we all know, but when she identified Bloody Face, the entire asylum was rocked.

3. If a cute little girl warns you of your inescapable demise, you run in the opposite direction. Unfortunately no one listened and season 1 started off bloody and terrifying.
