_This Indiana native outshone the rest--in thrift store finds--to win our third annual TeenVogue.com Snapshot contest.

AGE**: 18

WHAT SHE’S WEARING: "A Karolina Zmarlak top, a Proenza Schouler skirt, and Creative Recreation booties."

SNAP JUDGEMENT: "I grew up in Indianapolis, and I’m a freshman in the photojournalism program at Ball State University. My favorite photographer is Steve McCurry, who did the iconic ’Afghan Girl’ portrait for National Geographic. I also spend a lot of time on Lookbook.nu and Flickr searching for inspiration images that capture moments of real life."

INDIE QUEEN: "Winning the Snapshot contest was my first trip to New York. I loved all the Zara stores on every block, but we don’t have that shop in Indiana, so the majority of my clothes come from Goodwill and consignment boutiques. It’s like a treasure hunt; I’ve found really cool blazers from the 1980s with giant shoulder pads, high-waisted floral pants, and a YSL-inspired safari jumpsuit. I love a good bargain. My prom dress was a 1930s, screen siren-esque, white halter gown. It cost four dollars!"

BEST FOOT FORWARD: "My friends at school make fun of me because I have a pair of Jeffrey Campbell 99 platform wedges that I wear _everywhere _-- for going out, of course, but also to class. They always ask me why I’m ’so dressed up.’ My response? ’I just don’t feel like wearing flip-flops today!’"
