Anya Taylor-Joy just wore what may be her most daring dress yet. The Furiosa star put her personal twist on the peekaboo, lace-up trend we've been seeing on some of our favorite stars lately, appearing in New York City in a deep red Mugler minidress that laced up the back and gave us a peek at her torso and her butt.
Anya Taylor-Joy wore the dress for an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. From the front, it looks like your typical red leather mini, with a high neckline, super short skirt, and beautiful draping across the body of the dress.
But when she turned around, you realized that this was not your typical minidress. The dress is connected by skinny black leather straps starting at mid-back, under which Taylor-Joy wore absolutely nothing but a thong that perfectly blended into her skin.
Her entire back is bare, with the straps ending just above her butt. She wore it with matching red suede Christian Louboutin heels, a bold silver cuff bracelet, and bright red lipstick, plus a long, sleek snatched ponytail. It's the very definition of va-va-voom!
Taylor-Joy has always been one of our favorite fashion stars, and her latest red carpet looks do not disappoint. For a Furiosa premiere in Australia, she wore a truly jaw-dropping vintage Rabanne chain link dress covered in arrows and a matching arrow headpiece, then jetted off to Cannes, where she stunned in a giant hat and high-slit dress. For the U.K. premiere of Furiosa, she skipped pants entirely in favor of a black and white bodysuit from Giambattista Valli's spring-summer 2024 Couture collection. And we can't forget her gorgeous custom Dior wedding gown, which featured hummingbird embroidery.
The exposed thong and peekaboo corset trend continues to pop up on the red carpet, like the red lace-up two-piece Katy Perry wore to the 2024 Billboard Women in Music event, which showed her G-string and her butt. Taylor-Joy's version took the trend to the next level, and we have a feeling there will be plenty more peekaboo looks from the stars because of it.
