So maybe some Apple smartphones aren't as smart as they thought they were. Some owners of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus have been reporting issues with the touch screen not working — and now, Apple is facing a lawsuit because of the problem, Reuters reports.
People who experience the problem see a gray bar flash at the top of the screen. When the touchscreen stops working, it becomes basically impossible to use the phone. It's even been dubbed "touch disease."
According to the proposed nationwide class-action lawsuit, which Reuters reports was filed on Saturday, Apple allegedly knew about the defect and didn’t fix it. As BGR explains, the issue occurs because "Apple failed to incorporate underfill or a metal shield, two ways of protecting chips on the logic board that have been seen on previous iPhones."
BGR also reports that the lawsuit asks for an iPhone recall, as well as payment of damages and an extended warranty period.
