If you thought the only ace Ariana Grande had up her sleeve for the Met Gala 2024 was her stunning mother-of-pearl Loewe gown, we are pleased to inform you that you are wrong. The star was also tapped as a secret performer during the event and she 100% stole the show.
While traditionally, we don't get to see much of the actual gala once the red carpet is done, this year, we got a glimpse into the even closure. If you were following the red carpet coverage of the night, then you might have seen Emma Chamberlain telling Stray Kids about the Met Gala 2024 musical performance, which turned out to be none other than Ariana Grande herself.
Vogue gave us a peek at Grande's Met Gala 2024 set on Instagram, writing, “To cap off a thoroughly enchanting evening, Ariana Grande surprised guests with a performance.”

In the video, we see Grande clad in her second look of the night — a sheer corset dream from John Galliano's latest Maison Margiela couture collection — performing some of her hit tracks from “7 Rings” to “Into You” and “we can’t be friends,” off her most recent album, Eternal Sunshine.

In a second video, Vogue also gave us a longer snippet of Grande singing “Into You,” which you can see above, but the star herself also shared even more clips from her set on her Stories and her TikTok, including some of her surprise duet with her Wicked costar Cynthia Erivo.
While promoting the upcoming movie, Grande, who plays Glinda, and Erivo, who plays Elphaba, have committed to pink and green color schemes for the ‘fits, respectively; however, the two switched colors last night to sing a rendition of Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston's “When You Believe” to Met Gala 2024 attendees.

On TikTok, Grande shared her full entrance to the stage, arriving with an entourage straight out of a fairy tale while singing Sleeping Beauty's “Once Upon a Dream," an homage to this year's exhibition theme "Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion."

To cap it all off, Grande and her team also made celebratory “merch” for the Met Gala, which reads: “We headlined the f*cking Met Gala, b*tch.” Not bad for her second-ever Met Gala!
