In case there were any doubts that Ariana Grande takes her role as Glinda The Good Witch on Wicked very seriously, the star's latest move is the perfect proof because Grande just corrected the official Wicked Instagram account.
In the leadup to the first film's release on November 22, the Wicked account is posting all sorts of content to get people excited as they prepare to hit theaters around the world, from behind-the-scenes content to premiere moments and, because this is a musical after all, songs.
On November 13, the Wicked account posted videos featuring Cynthia Erivo's and Ariana Grande's rendition of the musical's uber-popular songs “The Wizard and I” and “Popular,” featuring lyrics on screen, and Grande had a small correction.
In the video post for “Popular,” which ICYMI Mattel actually leaked a portion of earlier this year, the lyrics go: “Popular! You're gonna be popular! I'll teach you the proper poise when you talk to boys, little ways to flirt and flounce.”

Though it's a widespread version on lyrics sites, Grande took to the comment section to point out that those lyrics were actually incorrect. “It’s ‘ploys’!!!!!!” Grande wrote in the comment section, adding a little “I love you” note for the account to show there were actually no hard feelings.
Ironically, the caption for the Wicked account's post read: “We know about popular. 🩷” But I guess Grande knows more.
That said, the “poise” vs. “ploys” debate is alive and well. While popular lyric site Genius and even Apple Music favor “poise,” Spotify and the official lyric video from the original Broadway production favor “ploys.” A+ for Ariana Grande!
