What better way to spend the weekend than under the California sun watching the world's best surfers, skaters, and BMrs? Needless to say, when Nike invited me to the 51st annual US Open of Surf in Huntington Beach, California, it didn't take much convincing to say yes. Check out the pictures to see some of the highlights!
Day one, I got a tour of the Hurley and Converse headquarters (both are owned by Nike), which are the epitome of California cool. Open, airy, and splashed with art and color throughout. Check out the trippy kitchen, where the Hurley staff eats lunch every day!
On the girl side, keep your eyes on surfer Monyca Byrne-Wickey (pictured) and snowboarder Ellery Hollingsworth. Don't let their model good looks fool you! These girls are fearless in each of their respective sports.

We were treated to a clambake lunch at charming beachside shack Motel Notell. Here, me and Nike PR's Demetria White model the Converse-logo lobster bibs.
D0210's Anna Lynne McCord hosted the event. "Oh no, I just put on my flip flops," she said, when I saw her backstage before the show. "Tell Teen Vogue I had my Loubs on earlier!"

I was surprised to discover that surfing is not very fun to watch. The surfers are so far away, they look like little dots on the ocean.
On the other hand...I was very pleasantly surprised to learn that BMX riding is very exciting to watch. Who knew?!
