Putting on makeup is an easy way to experience a mini transformation, but if I'm short on time, I'll just go for the lipstick. When I have a bright shade on, I instantly feel like a different person: Red makes me extra bold while orange puts me in a spunky mood. Plus, a pop of color on the lips is always eye-catching! Case in point: the beauty look at the Louis Vuitton and Yves Saint Laurent resort 2012 shows. Both design houses decided to give the models a girly-yet-daring fuchsia lip.

At Louis Vuitton, the fuchsia lip color was complemented with smoky black eyes, insanely long lashes, and peach-toned cheeks. I like to think of this look as Old Hollywood glamour with an edgy twist.

Yves Saint Laurent featured a more natural face, which puts all the attention on the bright lip. Though the skin appears fresh and untouched, there is a very subtle hint of blush on the cheekbones and forehead that gives the complexion a healthy glow.
