Benny Blanco is opening up about his relationship with Selena Gomez, revealing that he goes “all out” on every date with her and explaining why he chose to treat her to Taco Bell for their first Valentine's Day together.
Speaking to People for the magazine's Sexiest Man Alive coverage, Blanco listed out his best advance and rules when it comes to dating, sharing some nuggets about his and Gomez's relationship. “I go all out for every date,” the music producer admitted in a video. “We go out for each other.”
Blanco went on to explain how exactly they “go all out,” recalling a time Gomez rented an entire botanical garden for a date with Blanco. However, he shared that not all of their dates are that fancy. “She also likes something so simple. For Valentine's Day, I got her Taco Bell, I made her movie theatre nachos, I found her favorite pickles from Texas, and I deep-fried them for her. And then [I got her] just like all her favorite candies and hot Cheetos.”
Blanco had previously opened up about their Valentine's Day date during an appearance on The Howard Stern Show, and, well, let's just say the date was not as casual as he made it seem now. Aside from getting her Taco Bell, which he described as “her favorite thing," he rented out a whole movie theater to play her favorite movie, Almost Famous. He also swapped the theatre's seat for a more comfortable couch to honor Gomez's preferences, not to mention he deep-fried the pickles and made the nachos on location, bringing in the new equipment needed for the snacks.

Though that must have admittedly cost him a pretty penny, speaking to People, Blanco went on to explain that “going all out” does not mean “spending your entire bank account.” He added: “It means being attentive, listening to the person, listening to the things they like.”
Blanco also opened up about choosing the perfect gift for a partner, which goes back to the same principle. “For me, the best way to do it is to get creative,” he said. “Listen to something they said in the past and bring that back as a memory, or make them something. Most of my gifts are handmade. And it can be something so small, like, let's say, you had the best night at Six Flags, and it was your first date. Keeping that ticket and framing it and then giving it to them for their birthday… Simple little gestures go a long way.”
Benny Blanco and Selena Gomez have been dating since 2023 and have been sparking engagement rumors for a while after she posted a bathroom mirror selfie strategically covering her left hand with a heart emoji earlier this summer.
In September, Gomez dedicated “Juno” to Blanco at Sabrina Carpenter's MSG concert. Both have also opened up about their desires to start a family and how strongly they feel about their relationship.
