'Tis the season! The holidays are finally here, and the perfect way to kickoff the festivities is by pressing play on your favorite Christmas or holiday movie — and Netflix has so many to choose from this winter.
Over the past few years, the streaming service has stepped its game up in the merry content category and packed its winter slate with new arrivals, returning faves, and non-holiday releases designed to gather everyone cozily 'round the TV.
To get in the holiday mood, Netflix will kick off December with the release of the variety music special A Nonsense Christmas with Sabrina Carpenter, which will feature a long list of special guest stars, almost as long as the lyrics to “The Twelve Days of Christmas.”
Then on Christmas Day, Netflix will be airing two live NFL games: the Kansas City Chiefs vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Baltimore Ravens vs. the Houston Texans. After opening the presents, Netflix has one more gameday gift: the one and only Beyoncé will be the special halftime performer for the Ravens-Texans match.
And when the candy canes are almost done and you're knee-deep in leftovers and store returns, new seasons of some of the most highly-anticipated shows of the year arrive to spice things back up, including Squid Game season 2 on December 26 and Virgin River season 6 on December 19. Below, check out a complete list of the new Christmas and holiday content to watch on Netflix during the 2024 winter season.
