She coming! Ahead of her stellar night at the Grammys 2025, where she finally won her first Album of the Year award of her career, Beyoncé finally unveiled the Cowboy Carter Tour.
Cowboy Carter took home Album of the Year, Best Country Album, and Best Country Duo/Group Performance at this year's Grammys, earning 11 nominations overall and cementing Bey as both the most-nominated and most-awarded artist — regardless of gender — in Grammys history.
With 35 wins and 99 nominations under her belt, the megastar took advantage of the momentum on Feb. 3 and shared a video of a neon billboard that read “Cowboy Carter Tour.” She then posted a photo of herself in platinum blonde micro boho braids, bleached eyebrows, and bright red lipstick — the official Cowboy Carter Tour poster. (If you're already thinking of what to wear and how to do your concert glam, Bey has some early inspo for you.)

Why did Beyoncé initially postpone her tour announcement?
Minutes after she completed her special Netflix NFL halftime performance on Christmas Day, now known as the Beyoncé Bowl, the superstar teased a big announcement for Jan. 14. Bey shared a video of herself waving an American flag on Instagram, with the caption, “Look at that horse” and the date “01/14/25.” Fans immediately began to theorize what it could be: A tour? The release date of the third act in her musical series, which started with Renaissance and continued with Cowboy Carter? A release of those visuals, finally? (Fans became pretty convinced it could be a Cowboy Carter Tour announcement, especially after Live Nation reshared her teaser video across multiple social media platforms.)
However, Beyoncé decided to postpone her announcement due to the wildfires in Los Angeles, which killed at least 29 people, displaced over 80,000 residents, and burned over 40,000 acres in Southern California. “The January 14th announcement will be postponed to a later date due to the devastation caused by the ongoing wildfires around areas of Los Angeles,” the musician wrote on Instagram via a text-only post. “I continue to pray for healing and rebuilding for the families suffering from trauma and loss. We are so blessed to have brave first responders who continue to work tirelessly to protect the Los Angeles community.”
On Jan. 12, Beyoncé's foundation BeyGOOD announced the L.A. Fire Relief Fund and its pledge of $2.5 million; in her postponement announcement, Bey herself referenced the fund, noting its creation “to directly support families who lost their homes and community organizations at the forefront of relief," and urged others to “please join us in supporting with whatever you can.”
All in all, fans believe Beyoncé postponing her tour announcement was the decent thing to do.
Though some were upset about the postponement, having stayed up until midnight on Jan. 13 to hear the news right away, others understood why Beyoncé chose to put a pause on whatever rollout she had ready for the time being. For one, the star sometimes lives in Los Angeles — she has a few homes in California, per Architectural Digest, including a home in Malibu that outlasted the fires and a mansion in Bel Air. However, her mother, Tina Knowles, lost her Malibu bungalow in the fires, which she called her "sanctuary" in a heartbreaking tribute to the home.
In addition, asking or expecting fans to spend money on concert tickets and potential travel and lodging during an ongoing national disaster could have been received extremely poorly, and major news like a Beyoncé tour could have shifted focus from relief efforts.
“I didn’t want to be the one to say it… but I was hoping Beyoncé would postpone her announcement. She recognizes and understands her power, and it definitely would’ve taken attention away from what’s happening in California,” wrote one X user.
“'She could’ve posted earlier.' Actually, no. Beyoncé is incredibly calculated. She knew millions of people would be waiting for the announcement, so why not use that moment and audience to raise awareness for the cause and encourage donations through BEYGOOD? She did the right thing,” wrote another.
Many more Hollywood industry events have been or were postponed in the wake of the fires, including Meghan Markle's upcoming Netflix series, the 2025 Oscars nominations announcements, and multiple pre-Grammys 2025 events.
How did fans react to the tour news?
It's safe to say fans were pretty excited about the tour announcement. Beyoncé's own comment section was filled with positive reactions, including messages from other celebrities too. JT of City Girls wrote, “We outside!!!! Ima cry hard during ‘16 carriages!’” Model Ashley Graham commented, “Come on B let’s goooooooo! Can’t wait!” Honey Gonzales, or Honey Balenciaga, who danced alongside Beyoncé on the Renaissance World Tour said, “With my ‘ll Hands ll Heaven’ 🤠✨.” But the reactions didn't stop there — fans took to other social media platforms to share their thoughts, too. And of course they made plenty of memes to express themselves. Check out a few below:
