Gymnast Suni Lee has been on a roll, from winning gold with Team USA in Paris to being named a 2024 Glamour Woman of the Year. Now “hugged by Beyoncé” can also be added to that list of achievements.

The Olympian and Bey were both in attendance at Glamour's 2024 Women of the Year awards in New York City on Tuesday evening, and had the sweetest run-in during the ceremony. In a short clip, which was shared on Glamour's official X account, Beyoncé goes in for a hug with Lee and the two have a brief conversation, with Lee looking absolutely thrilled and downright surprised by the interaction. While we can't quite hear what was said in the video, Lee reposted the clip, saying, “u guyyssss i cannot breathe stop.” If we were in her shoes, we'd feel exactly the same way.

Beyoncé is clearly a fave among Team USA's female gymnasts, as Jordan Chiles famously referenced one of the singer's Renaissance World Tour costumes at the U.S. Gymnastics Championships earlier this summer, and Lee and her teammates — Chiles, Simone Biles, Hezly Rivera, and Jade Carey — appeared in a Team USA tribute video with Bey ahead of the Paris Olympics in August. “Hello girls,” Bey says in the video as a call and response, referencing the lyrics to her Cowboy Carter track “YA YA.” “Hello, Beyoncé!” Lee and her teammates answer with smiles.

Suni Lee's followers were just as excited as the 21-year-old athlete was about the adorable moment meeting the music icon IRL. “Girl you got another gold medal on tonight!” wrote one. “BEYONCÉ WAS EXCITED TO MEET YOU!!!" enthused another. Lee and Beyoncé also posed for a photo together at the event, which Lee obviously shared on her Instagram Stories with the caption “Hellloooo Beyoncé 🥳🥳.” (This one deserves a spot on the grid, Suni!)

Lee was honored at the Glamour event as one of the aforementioned Women of the Year, and told the magazine that she's excited about what's next, which included a big move from Minnesota to New York City, and finding out “who Suni [is] outside [of] gymnastics.” While Lee is not entirely sure about competing in the 2028 Olympic Games — which will be hosted by the city of Los Angeles — she's keeping her options open. Whatever she decides to do in the future, Lee has the right attitude about this phase of life. “I just want to have fun with it and do everything that I can to put myself in the best position and then do my thing," she said.
