Billie Eilish confirmed with fans that she and her ex are on good terms.
The “What Was I Made For” singer got very candid on Instagram over the weekend after she posted an “Ask Me a Question” prompt to her Story. Some questions centered around sharing photos from certain days or asking for some behind-the-scenes moments from her most recent music video. But others got personal — and Eilish was willing to answer them.
One person wrote in the text box, simply, “Jesse???” referring to Eilish's ex-boyfriend Jesse Rutherford.
“Very very good friends only,” Eilish responded. “My homie forever.”
Eilish, 21, was first linked to The Neighbourhood lead singer Rutherford, 31, in October 2022 after being spotted out to eat together. They confirmed their relationship that following November by walking the LACMA Art + Film Gala red carpet together wearing matching Gucci sleepwear. After Eilish spoke highly of Rutherford and the pair spent more time together, it eventually came to an end this past May. A representative for Eilish said at the time that the couple “split amicably and remain good friends.”
As for Eilish's current relationship status, another person asked, “Are you dating anyone?” to which Eilish wrote, “NO SIRRRRRRR" on top of a screenshot of the artist FaceTiming an unknown person.
Eilish has seemingly kept busy since her split from Rutherford, including putting out the chart-topping single, “What Was I Made For” from the Barbie movie. She also performed the song for the first time live last week at Lollapalooza, while also honoring the late Angus Cloud.
