The naked dress trend is going through a bit of a metamorphosis and BLACKPINK's Jennie Kim is the latest to take it for a spin with what's perhaps the most wearable take on the trend to date.
In the past years, we have seen a resurgence of sheer dresses on catwalks, red carpets, and beyond. Celebs like Charli XCX, Lily Rose Depp, Dakota Johnson, Megan Thee Stallion, and Bella Hadid have all tried their hand at the so-called “naked dress” trend but not many have dared to take the trend into the everyday realm — that is, until Jennie Kim.
Spotted on February 28 at Icheon Airport on her way to Los Angeles for an event tied to her upcoming album Ruby, Jennie gave the naked dress a boho-chic spin, adding plenty of layers to tone down the sheerness.
Jennie posed for photographers before entering the airport rocking a sheer mesh maxi dress from French brand Lemaire, which she paired with dark brown laceup boots also from the brand. Playing with three different textures, Jennie balanced the dress's transparency by layering over a green flannel shirt and an oversized suede jacket by Polish brand Leo Season.
As if effectively combining three clashing textures wasn't enough of a lesson, Jennie's fit also proved to be a master class in underlayering. In closeup pics taken by photographers on site, you can see the star kept warm and made sure to cover any parts she didn’t want to peek through the sheer fabric with the addition of black knee-high socks and what appears to be a matching biker bodysuit.
As far as beauty goes, Jennie styled her hair long and in loose waves with a center parting and stuck to what's become her trademark under-eye blush for a flushed and refreshed base.
Over the last few months, Jennie has been gearing up for the release of her solo album Ruby, which features collaborations with the likes of Doechii, Dua Lipa, and more. The album will finally arrive on March 7, surely with more style inspiration to follow. After that, Jennie will be getting back on the road with her fellow BLACKPINK members for a 2025 tour. But first, we'll likely see her at Paris Fashion Week again. Booked, busy, and stylish!
