Fall is officially in full swing, and BLACKPINK's Rosé is ringing in the season in NYC with a super easy (yet incredibly chic) shoe styling hack that you will be seeing everywhere this season.
On September 22 and 23, 2024, BLACKPINK's Rosé was spotted out and about in NYC wearing four different outfits that all shared a common thread: black shoes with white socks. The star was first seen in Manhattan on her way to The Howard Stern Show, rocking a black denim jacket with a Coach mini dress and her The Row Margaux bag. On her feet, she added a pair of crisp white crew socks scrunched down around the ankles, which she paired with coquette ballerina-style leather pumps from Bode.
The next day, Rosé was spotted leaving her hotel in Tribeca, this time wearing a leather shirt and midi skirt combo from Our Legacy, and once again, her scrunched-down white socks, now paired with a pair of velvet ballerina-style Mary Jane heels featuring a crossed strap detail.
The same day, Rosé changed into a modified Altuzarra spring-summer 2026 dress with a train, straight from its runway debut, to appear on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. While she wore open-toe patent leather heels for the actual broadcast, she later changed into a comfier pair of shoes to leave the venue. The star tocked a pair of black derby shoes, which she paired with, you guessed it, her trusty white socks.
And it wasn't a mere coincidence. After leaving The Tonight Show, Rosé was seen entering the hotel and then reemerging once again to go see Chappell Roan perform at the Forest Hills Stadium, and she stuck with the same derby shoes and socks combo for her concert look, which also included a “Photographer” black tee from ERL and a mini black leather skirt with tights. She completed the look with Acne Studios sunglasses, the Margaux from the day before, and a massive Owala water bottle.
It goes without saying that white socks are a staple in everyone's wardrobe, especially as the temperatures drop. Loafers and white socks are an infallible combo for fall, as proven by anyone from Harry Styles and Justin Bieber to Shay Mitchell and Kendall Jenner. However, Rosé proves you don't have to restrict the formula to just loafers to give an otherwise simple look an unexpectedly bright twist.
You surely have more than enough in your closet, but if you are looking for new white socks, here are some editor-approved options:
