BLACKPINK’s Rosé just blessed the world with her debut solo album, R. Following the release of her first solo single "Gone," which she premiered during The Show, Blinks have long been anticipating Rosé's unveiling of "On the Ground." The track and video finally dropped on March 12 and the Korean-Newzealander singer did not disappoint, across the musical and style department.
The singer showed up with a ton of outfit changes for the music video, mixing high glamour with fashionable casual wear, in brands that range from Jean Paul Gaultier to Re/Done. The video’s general aesthetics really contrast the visuals of glamour and grunge. Check out all the looks from the video here:
1. Waiting Games in Alex Perry Strapless Gown
Rosé opened her music video in a dressing room wearing a gorgeous hot pink strapless gown from Alex Perry. She’s styled with a thin black neck scarf and chunky, platform-style black combat boots. Right off the bat, this look fuses the aesthetics of elegance and rebellion present in the rest of the video.
2. Killer Queen in David Koma
The second look we see Rosé rock is all-black, with a crystal-embellished bodysuit from Georgia-born London-based designer David Koma, large black puffer sleeves with knee-high boots. The killer look is rounded off by a strappy corset-style belt and a long, feathery train.
3. Ethereal Cong Tri Sequined Bodysuit
Rosé absolutely rocks it in this Cong Tri bodysuit and veil that she's wears paired with a drapey asymmetrical mini skirt and a long quasi floral detachable train.
4. Runaway in Bridal Kong and Haleia
Rosé has on fully elegant look while world-saving action movie electric fuses go on in the background! She's wearing a feathery bodysuit from South Korean brand Bridal Kong and a ruffled mini skirt from couture brand Haleia.
5. High and Low with Jean Paul Gaultier Dress and Bomber Jacket
As already seen in the teasers, Rosé's dusty lavender ruffly number is a romantic one-piece bodysuit and train from Jean Paul Gaultier's Spring 2020 couture collection. (She pairs the high-fashion looks with a casual, cropped bomber jacket that lets us know she's called the Uber and is ready to leave the party early.)
6. Party Town in Re/Done and ANDTHEOTHER
The little pants, little top look works for Rosé, and she knows it. This Re/Done graphic t-shirt and black shorts look amazing with her statement ANDTHEOTHER coat.
7. The Many Rosés
This scenes gives major “The Old Rosé can't come to the phone right now" vibes. The main Rosé wears a wider-than-wide brimmed hat with a stunning black and white lace ensemble that I wish we could get a better look at. As for the rest of Rosés, as a Blink style fan account spotted, they wear rose-embellished mini dresses from Mihano Momosa.
8. Cozy Rosé Forever
This is Rosé's third all-white look in the video, but this one is super casual: a softy cropped cardigan, denim cut-off shorts, and a t-shirt. She's hanging out with glam Rosé from the opening scene of the video. Cozy Rosé forever.
9. Pretty in Pink in Haleia
Thematically, ruffles are made for Rosé. It literally makes her look like a rose, especially sitting among a meadow of roses. This baby pink ruffled dress, definitely one of the standouts from the video, is also by Haleia.
10. Back to Alex Perry
Rosé returns to the first gown we saw in the opening scene of the video, this time with that same cropped jacket she wore with the Jean Paul Gaultier. No matter what anyone says, true fashion girls are outfit repeaters and Rosé proves it.
