Blake Lively debuted a brand new red ’do at last night’s Time 100 Gala in New York City, and though the strawberry blond hue seems right up Serena van der Woodsen’s [Upper East Side] alley, Gossip Girl isn’t the reason for her new look.
Blake told People Magazine, Its for the film Hick. It helps when youre playing a role, when I dont feel like myself. And I dont really feel like myself with red hair." She’ll be playing a drug-addicted teen mom in the upcoming flick, but she revealed that her fresh tresses make her feel like a much different movie character. **"I love it. I feel like Ariel," she said to People, referencing the beloved Little Mermaid heroine. **
There’s no doubt Blake will return to her iconic blond roots after the movie, but the unexpected look is hard not to love.
