Bongo has named Riverdale’s Lili Reinhart and Camila Mendes as the faces of its newest collection, which is more than fitting considering that the collection and images are back-to-school-themed and named #BongoBFFs.
These new Bongo ads mark the first-ever Bongo fashion campaign for both Lili and Camila, but it’s clear from the photos that there should be many more to come. The images are candid and beautiful, and make us want to hop on the retro road trip with the duo and hang out with them for the day. Anyone else?
The campaign was shot by Matt Jones in the California desert and seems like it captured the essence of the real-life besties on the other side of the lens. Both girls look back to best friends of the past who have been featured by the brand in previous campaigns, expressing their excitement at being chosen to join in the fun. In a press release, Lili gushes, “Cami and I are excited to be Bongo girls because we grew up seeing young women we admired like Vanessa Hudgens and Lucy Hale in the brand’s ads, and because sharing the experience of shooting your first fashion campaign is something made extra special when you get to do it with one of your best friends.” Camila echoes, “Our lives have changed so much in the past year with season one of Riverdale, season two premiering in October, and our first foray into fashion in between, and it’s exciting that we’re conquering all this as a team and can relate perfectly to the concept for our Bongo campaign.”
