BTS member Jin has officially completed his mandatory service in the South Korean military, and, of course, his fellow members had quite the greeting prepared for him, even featuring a saxophone.
On June 12, 2024, Jin officially became the first member of BTS to complete his mandatory military service after being discharged from a military base in Yeoncheon. Jin, who is also the oldest member of the group, became the first BTS member to enlist in the military in December 2022, with J-Hope following suit shortly after. Since then, all remaining members have started their respective services.
To celebrate the end of his enlistment, fellow BTS members RM, J-Hope, and V made their way to Yeoncheon to greet Jin as he made his exit. Jungkook and Jimin, who enlisted at the same time in December 2023 and serve in the same army division as Jin, also didn't miss out on the celebrations despite being clad in their soldier uniforms.
Jin was all smiles as he said goodbye to his military colleagues and was greeted by his fellow bandmembers, including RM, whose real name is Kim Namjoon, serenading him with a saxophone, making for a handful of pictures that could honestly be hung in a museum.
According to reports and videos spreading online, some of the songs played by RM in celebration of Jin's discharge included their own English hit song “Dynamite.”
Though not photographed outside the military base, fellow BTS member Suga also joined Jin on his discharge celebrations at the HYBE company building, where the seven members of the group posed together against a background that read “Jin is back.” The moment was shared with fans on the members' official X account with the caption: “I've returned.”

To celebrate being discharged from the military, Jin also held a Weverse live from the same room where the above photo was taken. During the 19-minute broadcast, the star interacted with fans, showing off his farewell gifts from fellow soldiers and talking about upcoming Festa celebrations. (More on that below.)
Jin also later took to Weverse to pen a sweet message for fans and reporters, writing: “Thank you so much to the reporters and the ARMY who came to the company for my discharge from the military. I couldn't say hello properly because I was afraid it would get crowded, but thank you so much. Our ARMY is the best.”
Now that he's completed his military duties, Jin is free to resume musical and promotional activities. The first one will take place on June 13 and will be a free hug spree, during which the star will hug 1,000 fans as part of Festa celebrations. There is no time to waste!
