Camila Cabello's new sneakers look like something Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century would love. The pop star recently collaborated with the Japanese footwear company Grounds, and the result is a bubbly, chunky blue-and-white sneaker that would be right at home in a space-age Disney Channel Original Movie — or, better yet, on your feet.
Camila Cabello shared the news on Instagram, posting a handful of pics of herself in bed in a white T-shirt, white underwear, and the shoes, styled with arm- and legwarmers for a ballerina-off-duty vibe. The shoes, with their white-and-gray color palette accented by pops of bright baby blue, were directly inspired by her latest album, which had a similar color palette. (Namely, her blue tongue on the cover.)
“[Grounds] and I have collaborated to make our own blue hour shoe inspired by C, XOXO and the blue colors of the Miami post-sunset sky,” she wrote. According to Cabello, her love of the brand goes way back. “I wore Grounds so much while writing this album and festival rehearsals, they’re unique and comfy and they make me taller.”
Cabello's exact shoes are the brand's Moopie style, known for its thick, exaggerated “bubble”-style footbed that gives a wearer a few extra inches of height and cushy comfort. (The Moopie style also comes in a Mary Jane, slip-on, and sock boot silhouette, in addition to sneakers.)
They're currently available for pre-order on the Grounds website and retail for $460 USD; according to Grounds, the Blue Hour shoes are pre-order only and will not be available after the pre-order ends. Just in time for the holidays! Shipping is expected for June 2025. You can head into 2025 looking like you walked right out of 2045.
