Although the unpredictable, chaos-ridden Riverdale will come to a conclusion in August, it has left a permanent mark on its cast member Camila Mendes – we mean that literally.
In late June, the Veronica Lodge actress took to social media to unveil the tattoo she got in honor of the Archie Comics-inspired show and her feisty character. Located on her inner right arm, the minimalist, nautical linework tat depicts an open oyster with a pearl resting inside. It’s a sweet nod to the birthstone for June, the same birth month she shares with Lodge.

The actress posted her latest dainty ink on her Instagram story, writing “New tat to celebrate the end of an era.” The permanent accessory has been making an appearance on her feed over the past week.
The 29-year-old actress revealed the tat shortly after Riverdale officially wrapped filming at the end of last month. It just aired its seventh and final musical episode, “Archie the Musical!” on July 5. Mendes had her new tattoo done by the artist Kaiju Rapture, who also did commemorative tattoos for her Riverdale co-stars Lili Reinhart (Betty Cooper), Vanessa Morgan (Toni Topaz), and Madelaine Petsch (Cheryl Blossom). They're among recent celebs to join the teeny tiny tat club.
Mendes further commemorated this close to a chapter via an Instagram post and a bittersweet – and rightfully witty – caption.

To the show's cast and crew, she winds up her message with: “I’m really going to miss the triumphs and defeats, the epic highs and lows, of making network television with you,” in reference to that notorious Archie quote about football. Seven seasons spanning six years, and the days of Riverdale's seemingly endless theatrics and plot-twists will soon be put to rest. We look forward to seeing Camila Mendes’ future endeavors and wholesome style moments.
