The L.A. fires are continuing to ravage local communities this week, with thousands of Californians affected. As reported by CBS News, more than 45 square miles of land have burned in Los Angeles, which has put roughly 179,000 people under evacuation orders. Officials also report that five people have died because of the fires, more than 1,300 structures have burned, and “over 60,000 structures were threatened Thursday as strong winds fanned blazes in densely populated parts of Southern California.”
As Los Angeles is the city of television and film, many local celebrities are being forced to evacuate their homes. Scary Movie star Anna Faris is among those reported to have lost their house in the Pacific Palisades. In the same area, the home of Adam Brody and Leighton Meester, who were all smiles just last weekend at the 2025 Golden Globes, was reportedly burned to ashes, as were the homes of Miles Teller and his wife Keleigh Teller (neé Sperry) and Oscar-winner Anthony Hopkins.
Eugene Levy, who also resides in the area and is the honorary mayor of the Palisades, spoke to the Los Angeles Times, saying that he had to evacuate his home, which was ultimately destroyed in the wildfires. "The smoke looked pretty black and intense over Temescal Canyon,” he recalled. “I couldn’t see any flames, but the smoke was very dark.”
Ben Affleck reportedly had to evacuate, too, seeking refuge with ex-wife Jennifer Garner and their children. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Mexican director Guillermo del Toro has also had to evacuate, while other at-risk stars who reside close by include Jennifer Aniston, Bradley Cooper, Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, Reese Witherspoon, Adam Sandler, Michael Keaton, and many more.

Bella Hadid
Bella Hadid confirmed that her family house had burned down in the L.A. fires, sharing pictures of the aftermath on her Instagram stories, including one of her childhood bedroom engulfed in flames.
Tina Knowles
Tina Knowles, mother of Beyoncé and Solange, revealed on Instagram that her Malibu bungalow had also burned down during the fires. “This is what I was looking at on my birthday this past weekend from my tiny little bungalow on the water in Malibu! It was my favorite place, my sanctuary, my sacred Happy Place. Now it is gone!! God Bless all the brave men and women in our fire department who risked their lives in dangerous conditions,” she wrote. “This could have been so much worse without the dedication of the disaster workers and first responders. I’m so sad for the people who lost the five family members. My deepest Prayers are with you.”
Miley Cyrus
Though Miley Cyrus has yet to confirm it firsthand, her mansion in Malibu, an area under evacuation orders, is believed to have been affected by the L.A. fires. Previously, in 2018, the house Cyrus shared with then-husband Liam Hemsworth also burned down in the Woolsey fire.
Milo Ventimiglia
This Is Us and Gilmore Girls star Milo Ventimiglia revealed that his family's Malibu home had burned down during the fires. He and his wife, Jarah, had evacuated on Jan. 7. "You start thinking about all the memories in different parts of the house and what not and then you see your neighbors' houses and everything kind of around and your heart just breaks," Ventimiglia told CBS News. “We got good friends and we got good people we're working with and we'll make do. Wife and baby and dog, most important.”
Jhené Aiko
Singer Jhené Aiko shared that her house had burned in the fires on January 9 via a now-deleted Instagram post and her Instagram Stories. “Me and my children's home is gone, burned to the ground with all of our things inside. Lord have mercy. Thankful we still have each other. Starting from scratch. My heart is so heavy,” she wrote in one slide against a black background.
Aiko added in a second post, “Praying for everyone this morning. Those who lost their home. Those who lost their life's work, those who lost their life. Praying for my city. Praying for the wild life and lost pets. Praying for the world let suffering be a gift; a lesson in compassion.”
Paris Hilton
On January 8, Paris Hilton took to her Instagram account to share that her family home had burned in the LA fires. “Heartbroken beyond words,” she began her post. “Sitting with my family, watching the news, and seeing our home in Malibu burn to the ground on live TV is something no one should ever have to experience. This home was where we built so many precious memories. It’s where Phoenix took his first steps and where we dreamed of building a lifetime of memories with London.”
Hilton said that though the loss of the house was “overwhelming,” she was grateful that her family and pets were safe. “My heart and prayers are going out to every family affected by these fires. To all the people who have lost their homes, their memories, and their beloved pets. My heart aches for those still in harm’s way or mourning greater losses. The devastation is unimaginable. To know so many are waking up today without the place they called home is truly heartbreaking," she wrote.
Hilton closed her post by sharing that she would connect with nonprofit organizations to “support the communities impacted by these fires" and thanking firefighters and first responders.
Alabama and Landon Barker
Alabama and Landon Barker, Travis Barker's children, took to Instagram Stories to share an update as fires spread closer. “Just evacuated from my home due to wildfires in Los Angeles, please be safe!! They are saying the fires are spreading football field amounts in seconds," Alabama wrote on her account.
Landon posted on his, “Just evacuated praying for everyone the fires have affected."
Chrissy Teigen & John Legend
Chrissy Teigen shared via Instagram Stories that she and her husband, John Legend, had to evacuate. Teigen confirmed that she, Legend, their four children, four dogs, and pet bearded dragon had checked into a hotel.
“I haven't had the words, it is a hellscape,” Teigen wrote on her Stories prior to evacuating. “We are ok as of right now, and I felt weird saying that with so many people we know and don't know who are not ok. Thank you for reaching out. Looking for any and all ways to help our community right now, please send anything you see. And god bless the firefighters and all first responders.”
Diane Warren
Songwriter Diane Warren shared via an Instagram post that she had lost her home. “This is the last pic I took of Leah's rock from my beach house. I've had this house for almost 30 years,” she wrote. “It looks like it was lost in the fire last nite. There's a rainbow shining on it which I'm taking as a sign of hope for all creatures who have been affected by this tragedy. The animals and the rescue ranch are OK tho which is the most important thing. Stay safe everyone.”
Billy Crystal
When Harry Met Sally… star Billy Crystal told People that he and his wife had lost their house in the fires. “Words cannot describe the enormity of the devastation we are witnessing and experiencing. We ache for our friends and neighbors who have also lost their homes and businesses in this tragedy. Janice and I lived in our home since 1979. We raised our children and grandchildren here," he said. "Every inch of our house was filled with love. Beautiful memories that can't be taken away. We are heartbroken, of course, but with the love of our children and friends we will get through this. We pray for the safety of the firefighters and first responders. The Pacific Palisades is a resilient community of amazing people and we know in time it will rise again. It is our home."
Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt
The Hills stars Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt shared that their house had burned down via TikTok. "Nightmare came true," Pratt wrote, with a chilling video showing the fire. The couple safely evacuated with their two sons. Montag also documented their evacuation on her own TikTok. In a separate video Pratt shared that his parents' house had also burned down.
Mandy Moore
Mandy Moore was also among those forced to evacuate, which she shared on Instagram. “I love you, Altadena,” she wrote. “Grateful for my family and pets getting out last night before it was too late (and endless gratitude to friends for taking us in and bringing us clothes and blankets). Honestly, I’m in shock and feeling numb for all so many have lost, including my family. My children’s school is gone. Our favorite restaurants, leveled. So many friends and loved ones have lost everything too. Our community is broken but we will be here to rebuild together. Sending love to all affected and on the front lines trying to get this under control.”
Mark Hamill
Star Wars actor Mark Hamill took to Instagram to share that he had evacuated his Malibu home with his wife, Marilou, and their dog Trixie. The family relocated to their daughter Chelsea's house in Hollywood.
Jamie Lee Curtis
Due to a press trip in New York, Freakier Friday star Jamie Lee Curtis did not have to evacuate, but said her neighborhood had been severely affected by the fires. “Our beloved neighborhood is gone. Our home is safe. So many others have lost everything. Help where you can. Thank you to the first responders and firefighters,” she wrote in one of many Instagram posts.
Curtis added in another post, “My home is safe. My street is safe. Flying to New York and hearing the beginnings of the stories of the fire was very challenging to be far away from my home and family and friends and feeling very powerless.”
She continued of an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, “It was complicated to feel like we were making comedy in the midst of such a profound tragedy across the country, but we did. The hug he gave me in support of my fragile feelings will always be remembered, and I leave New York City with the hopes and prayers and good thoughts from all in the East Coast as I return home to the best coast and my beloved City of Angels to help start to repair and rebuild.” Curtis later pledged to donate $1 million to relief efforts.
