Well, 2020 is officially a thing of the past!

After what was simultaneously the shortest and longest year of all time, the clock struck midnight on January 1, 2021 and a new year is officially upon us. Of course, like other recent holiday celebrations, New Year’s Eve likely looked a bit different for everyone this time around. With coronavirus cases increasing around the country, health officials have continued to urge folks not to gather in large groups this season — AKA no big New Year’s parties, no congregating to watch the ball drop. But let’s be honest, spending New Year’s Eve at home has always been a good choice — and you can always still get dressed up, even if it’s just to take some Insta pictures in your room.

Plenty of celebs got in on the New Year’s spirit this year, even if it was to say a big F-U to 2020. Ahead, check out some of the biggest stars’ NYE celebrations — from Taylor Swift rocking out in a full-on bear suit (yup) to Justin and Hailey ringing in 2021 with a kiss.

The Euphoria star looked like a literal present wrapped in a silver bow, pairing her suit jacket and pants with a shiny, silver top.

Speaking of suits, the Pretty Little Liars star was serving looks in a gold ensemble. In lieu of a shirt, Ashley went for a handful of gold necklaces layered in different lengths.

Chloe x Halle

The musical duo shared a highlight reel of all they accomplished in 2020, along with a message for fans. “Thank you to our #sirens x #bailiens for making this crazy year so very special for us,” they wrote in the caption. “2020 was truly the #ungodlyhour man 🙈we love y'all so so so much x there's a lot more to come.”

To commemorate the end of 2020, the tennis star decided to share a compilation of her favorite outfits of the year. As she put it, that task turned out to be “kinda hard cause I didn’t go anywhere.”

Alongside a couple of pics of her cute pup, the TATB actor wrote, “May your year be filled with joy & puppy snuggles. Celebrate your every day wins, be brave, love & be gentle to yourself. Believe that anything can happen.”

Instead of a NYE selfie, Kaitlyn decided to share a picture of a pretty oceanside sunset.

MBB shared her December 31 look, along with a reflection on what this past year has taught her. “I know how much I have to be thankful for especially at this time when so many are struggling, coping with loss, fear, desperation and heartache,” Millie wrote. “I’ve learnt not to take life for granted, to embrace each day and live to its fullest extent, to smile and also try to make others smile, to say ‘thank you’ more, to genuinely mean it when i ask, ‘how are you?’ to say ‘I love you’ with conviction, and to appreciate each day we have on this earth.”

Miley welcomed 2021 with a New Year's Rockin’ Eve performance of “Party in the USA” — an iconic classic meant to be sung at the loudest volume of all times, obvs.

The Biebers had a lot to celebrate, with Justin’s new single and music video, “Anyone,” which made its debut just in time for the midnight countdown.

Megan Thee Stallion

Meg’s NYE look was absolutely full of as much sparkle as possible — along with a cat-eye we’ll be trying to recreate all year long.

Marsai posed with the perfect accessory: a party noisemaker adorned with the words “2020 blows.” She added a motivational caption for her fans, writing: “Even tho this year mostly sucked...look at us.
