Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan Tatum have announced that after nearly a decade of marriage, they are separating as a couple.
The two actors first met while filming their 2006 movie Step Up, and got married in July of 2009. Their daughter Everly was born in 2013.
Channing and Jenna released a joint statement about their split on Monday night, both posting the message to their Instagram accounts. They write:
It's important to remember that while Channing and Jenna are celebrities, they deserve privacy and respect during this transition in their lives. As they write in their statement, they also wanted to "share the truth" before speculation about their split got out of hand. And while fans may have been invested in their relationship and may chime in about the situation, the only people who know what Channing and Jenna need most is the two actors themselves.
